Zusammenfassung:	An acceleration zone (A) in the "Y" section of the riser (at the point of contact of regenerated catalyst and oil feed) in the FCC reactor increases initial superficial velocity of vaporized hydrocarbons to 7.6 to 24.4 m per second to reduce catalyst backmixing. The acceleration zone is followed by a transition zone (T) comprising an expanding riser section, which connects the acceleration zone to the remainder of the riser.
