description | Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT RECESSED WALL OUTLET WATERPROOFING ENCLOSURE WITH FLANGE The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: DESCRIPTION FIELD OF THE INVENTION [0001] This invention relates to achieving compliance with building and construction statutory codes and standards, including internal wet area waterproofing. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] During the construction of internal wet areas such as bathrooms, showers, sanitary compartments and laundries in new and existing buildings, a continuous waterproof membrane must be installed to the face of the wall linings to comply with statutory requirements such as building and construction regulations, codes and standards related to internal wet area waterproofing. [0003] There is a problem complying with these building and construction regulations, codes and standards when recessed electrical/data outlets and nurse call points are installed within the wall cavity of internal wet areas. They penetrate the wall lining and the continuous waterproof membrane that is required to be installed to the face of the wall linings they are located in. This resultant penetration does not comply with building and construction regulations, codes and standards and can also allow water ingress into the wall cavity, causing severe damage to the building which is disruptive and costly to repair. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0004] The building and construction industry does not have a practicable solution or standardised system to solve this problem. [0005] This invention is a device that allows for recessed electrical/data outlets and nurse call points to be mounted within wall cavities where a continuous waterproof membrane is required to be maintained for the wall of which they are located within, penetrate the wall lining and the waterproof membrane and achieve compliance with building and construction regulations, codes and standards. [0006] The recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure with flange penetrates the wall lining/face, forms a continuous and unbroken recess within the wall cavity and also provides encapsulated fixing points for recessed electrical/data outlets and nurse call points to be securely mounted within the wall cavity. This invention prevents any water ingress into the wall cavity from the installation of recessed electrical/data outlets and nurse call points. DECRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS [0007 |

DECRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS [0007] The outwardly flange of the recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure is installed over the wall lining face and behind the wall finishes. This allows for the waterproofing membrane to interface and lap onto to it, so waterproofing continuity is maintained. Any service cabling required to connect to the electrical/data outlets and nurse call points, can enter the recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure with flange via a hole within the top of the enclosure and once installed, is suitably sealed with a flexible sealant. [0008] Threaded metal or plastic inserts are encapsulated at dimensions compatible with recessed electrical/data outlets and nurse call points so that these recessed electrical outlets, nurse call points and data outlets can be securely fixed (and removed as required) to the waterproofing enclosure and flange system [0009] This invention is preferably constructed from suitably rigid plastic or metal and is shaped and sized for multiple units to be stackable and form a suitably sized recess within the wall cavity, so that recessed electrical outlets, nurse call points and data outlets or similar can be housed within and be simply removed for servicing and or replacement as necessary without affecting the waterproof membrane. DECRIPTION OF DRAWINGS [0010] This invention may be better understood with reference to the illustrations of the inventions embodiments as follows: Figure 1 is an orthographic projection of the front elevation. Figure 2 is an orthographic projection of the end elevation. Figure 3 is a graphical projection of the rear elevation. Figure 4 is an orthographic projection of the vertical section. Figure 5 is a graphical projection of the rear elevation. Figure 6 is a graphical projection of the front elevation. [0011] The recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure and flange system shown provides a continuous enclosure for recessed electrical outlets, nurse call points and data outlets to be fitted with outwardly flanges 1 for the waterproofing membrane to connect and lap onto. [0012] Threaded metal or plastic inserts, inserted for fixing points 2 are enclosed wholly within the recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure & flange system so waterproofing continuity is maintained when the recessed electrical outlets, nurse call points and data outlets are installed and fixed within the enclosure. [0013] The recessed wall outlet waterproofing enclosure with flange system is profiled 3 so multiple units can be tightly stacked for storage, packaging and transporting. [0014] A radius 4 has been provided to all external and internal corners/edges in preparation for the waterproof membrane installation [0015] The distances 6 between the recessed wall outlet fixing points are dimensioned to be compatible with recessed electrical outlets, nurse call points and data outlets. [0016] Holes 7 to mount the waterproofing enclosure & flange system to the face of the wall linings have been provided in addition to adhesive fixing to the wall lining/face.
