The tracker device comprises a control unit and one or more sensors. Here, at least one of the one or more sensors is an ultrasonic sensor. An attachment means allows for attachment of the tracker device to the upper arm of a user. The system further comprises a communication module for establishing communication between the control unit and a server. An alert module for alerting concerned authorities.The system implements real time malnutrition tracking in underprivileged children by the application of IoT and SONAR technologies. It facilitates easy monitoring and early detection of children suffering from malnutrition.
