The method involves producing a recess in a group (A) of roll forming tools (1, 2) by a form roller on a surface of a flat metal strip (5), and reducing thickness of the flat metal strip. The recess with another recess of one of the two form rollers is widened to a thinned region of the metal strip in groups (b, c, d) of the roll forming tools. A motion direction (4) of the former recess is changed by the metal strip along a surface of the roll forming tool engaged in the former recess, where the surface rolls on the metal strip. An independent claim is also included for a rolling device for manufacturing a metal strip.
