The tobacco line formed of the fibers in the appropriate processing area is guided through a conveyor duct between two long lateral panels in order to re-shape the line gently after having passed the trimming disks. The inner surface of the panels (60, 62) is divided in an upper projection formed by a step (64) and a lower area (70) providing a wider space for the accommodation of the conveying device. A pointed recess (72), deeper at the pointed end (74), is formed into the lower edge of the panel (84). The trimming device is inserted into a matching space (86) at the opposite end.
