An interlocked switching mechanism includes a plate 22 depressible to actuate a switch 10, the control knob 36 of a second switch 12 being located in an aperture 38 of the plate 22 such that it is accessible for actuation only when the plate is depressed from its normal position. Switch 12 is a slide switch actuated by sliding movement of knob 36 in aperture 38. Plate 22 is hinged at 26 and is biased by springs 28, 30, to a position above the cover 24 of the switch housing 15. Switch 10 is used as a stop switch and switch 12 as a reversing switch in the projector of Specification 1,215,593.
