Zusammenfassung: | The project arose from studies of coalition-formation in triads, following theoretical analyses by Theodore Caplow (1956). The aim was to investigate the characteristics of bargaining and decisions in small groups under conditions of varied power relationships among the members. This interest has been extended to inter-triad competition and negotiation and to groups of larger size (4 through 9). In addition to variations in power pattern, sex differences have been a central interest, leading to concepts of exploitative and accommodative strategy and their effects. Specific problems are indicated in the summaries of 13 technical reports. |
