description This bibliography is the basic volume of a planned series to be continued in annual supplements. The bibliography attempts a comprehensive listing of all scientific research in the areas of acceleration, vibration, deceleration, weightlessness, and protection and survival research. Scope of the fields surveyed includes rather broad areas of prolonged acceleration including blast and impact, vibration, weightlessness, and restraint and escape systems including capsules, ejection, and evacuation. The bibliography is arranged alphabetically by author into four sections, and contains 10,306 entries (Acceleration, 6,470; Vibration 1,058; Weightlessness, 873; and Escape and Restraint, 1,905). Approximately 70 percent of the entries include abstracts. Although this attempt has been comprehensive covering materials appearing as early as 1818 and as late as November 1963, the bibliography is intended only to aid, and not supplant, formal literature search by the working scientist. In cooperation with Aerospace Medical Research Labs. (6570th) and School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks AFB, Tex.
