Zusammenfassung:The Washington-area population recognizes that a nuclear attack on the city would be disastrous but does not consider such an attack imminent. In general the public's knowledge of protective measures for the family in the event of an nuclear attack is inadequate; few can name more than one protective measure that should be taken. The public has not made any preparation for protection against the effects of a nuclear attack although some expressed a willingness to provide themselves with measures of protection. The public supports the purpose of civil defense and expressed a desire for more information on civil defense. Pages are missing in orignial document.
