Zusammenfassung: | The chapter explores key ethical challenges in global public health by focusing on the inseparable connection between the environment and health in times of climate change. The authors examine the problematic consequences on human and planetary health caused by the ongoing changes in our global climate: from direct to indirect effects on people, animals, and ecosystems, as well as from increased diseases to implications for mental health. Interventions to address the climate change crisis, and protect the quality of life on the planet, are needed and urgent. Restorative actions are required, and resolute political commitments should promote them. The international agreements that the authors discuss are one example that demands implementation. |
