Zusammenfassung: | ABSTRACT Profile clinic of candidates for bariatric surgeryIn parallel to the epidemic rates of overweight and obesity, there is the popularity of bariatric surgery as an alternative treatment, with the number of procedures growing every year. Aim: To describe a clinical profile of patients eligible for bariatric surgery at a hospital in Manaus (Amazonas, Brazil). Methods: It was evaluated 50 patients included in 6 Bariatric Surgery Program group Adriano Jorge Hospital Foundation (AM, Brazil), through anamnesis and clinical assessment of vital signs. Results: Among the patients, 39 were female and 11 males. Among women, the average age was 35.9 ± 9.0 years, body mass index (BMI) of 51.8 ± 9.4 kg/m². In men, age was 37.8 ± 7.7 and BMI 50.0 ± 5.7. 52% of patients reported having systemic hypertension, while 48% were also diabetics; 98% of these patients were taking medication regularly. Musculoskeletal disorders were present in 18% of subjects. Vital signs measured during the evaluation revealed Blood Pressure (BP) average of 127/88 mm / hg, while heart rate (HR) was 81.2 ± 12.5 bpm and respiratory rate (FR) 19.2 ± 3.6 bpm. Conclusion: This study revealed that the search for bariatric surgery happens for individuals of working age in both sexes, and is also related to the presence of associated diseases such as Hypertension and Diabetes, confirming the multisystem condition of obesity.
Em paralelo aos índices epidêmicos de sobrepeso e obesidade, observa-se a popularização da cirurgia bariátrica como alternativa de tratamento, com o número de procedimentos crescendo a cada ano. Objetivos: Traçar um perfil clínico de pacientes candidatos à cirurgia bariátrica de um hospital de Manaus (AM, Brasil). Materiais e Métodos: Foram avaliados 50 pacientes inclusos no 6º grupo do Programa de Cirurgia Bariátrica da Fundação Hospital Adriano Jorge (AM, Brasil), através de anamnese e avaliação clínica dos sinais vitais. Resultados: Dos pacientes avaliados, 39 foram do sexo feminino e 11 do sexo masculino. Entre as mulheres, a média de idade foi 35,9 ± 9,0 anos, com Índice de Massa Corpórea (IMC) de 51,8 ± 9,4 kg/m². Nos homens, a idade foi de 37,8 ± 7,7 e IMC 50,0 ± 5,7. 52% dos pacientes relataram possuir Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica, enquanto 48% também eram diabéticos; 98% destes pacientes tomavam medicamento regularmente.
