Zusammenfassung: | We modify the probabilistic seismic hazard analysis
(PSHA) formulation by replacing the Gutenberg–Richter power law with the SCP (Sotolongo-Costa and Posadas)
non-extensive model for earthquake size distribution and call it NEPSHA. The SCP
claimed to model the regional seismicity better than the classical models.
The proposed method (NEPSHA) is implemented in the Tehran region, and the
results are compared with the classic PSHA method. The hazard curves show
that NEPSHA gives a higher hazard, especially in the range of practical
return periods. The uniform hazard spectra of NEPSHA provide more spectral
accelerations, especially for the medium-height buildings, which are the
most common urban structures. |
