The activities of manycompanies and institutions (especially those of a national or international character)require access to distributed databases to quickly collect the necessary data. Helpful forthese activities are central data repositories allowing users authorized access. Fora number of years, the creation of autonomous databases and information systems bydifferent entities in an uncontrolled manner and without central planning has given riseto collections that are often inconsistent, incomplete and outdated, with uncertain orincorrect data. The lack of established standards makes it difficult to analyze the data,exchange them between registers and integrate systems. The article presents the issuesrelated to public digital data records underlying the efficient provision of services, notlimited to those carried out electronically.
