Zusammenfassung:This paper presents a model of management capacity in productive systems integrating the concepts of the Theory of Constraints and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The main objective of this study is to discuss and propose a model of management capacity, able to answer the following key questions: i) capacity indicators which should be considered and how to measure them to measure the productive capacity of manufacturing systems? ii) what is the real productive capacity of the system analyzed under a determined relationship between capacity and demand? The discussion of the proposed model is relevant because the definition of productive capacity system enables better management of resources and capabilities, improve production scheduling on the factory floor and meeting the demands imposed by the market. This paper presents the proposition of using the Operating Income Index Global (IROG) with a different approach from traditional literature dealing with the theme, presented by Nakajima (1988). The results of this paper enable to develop a model to determine the capacity of the production system and the impact on the productive capacity of the entire system, not to consider the quality conformances that occur after the bottleneck resource of the production flow.
