Zusammenfassung:Background: Acute traumatic subdural hemorrhage is a pathological entity with a high mortality rate worldwide. Our hospital receives annually a high number of patients with this pathology; however, the time of entry to surgery after head trauma and the anisocoria presented by patients have not been correlated with their functional prognosis and mortality. The objective of this work is to evaluate, by means of results obtained in a tertiary medical center, the degree of affectation and impact on the patient's functionality and mortality, the presence of anisocoria and the time to surgery. Methods: Prospective cases at the Medical Center ISSEMyM Arturo Montiel Rojas, of patients diagnosed with acute subdural hemorrhage of traumatic origin treated by the neurosurgery service. Results: The study was carried out with a total of 38 patients. The relationship between anisocoria and death was obtained a p=0.049 of which 4 patients who had anisocoria died. Meanwhile, the relationship between anisocoria and the functional status of the patient after the trauma was obtained that 15 patients who did not present anisocoria ended up with mild disability to asymptomatic with a p=0.020. Conclusions:The presence of anisocoria and the time of entry to the operating room after head trauma have an influence on the functional prognosis of patients and the sooner surgical treatment of this pathology is started, the better the functional response to this pathology of high morbidity and mortality.
