Zusammenfassung: | The study was carry out in a semi -deciduous dry forest in Cabo San Antonio, the most western part of Península de Guanahacabibes. The objective of this study was to characterize the structure and diversity afte r anthropic and natural disturbances for more than 15 years. Twelve plots were marked of 625 m², distributed on both sides of the main road, at 200 m intervals. All individuals ≥ 2 cm in diameter wer e measured at 1.30 m high from the ground and ≥ 2 m in tree height . The structural variables were determined: richness, density, average height, average diameter, basal area, volume, index of value of ecological importance of the species and of the ecosystem in general. A total of 62 forest specie s were identified, grouped into 53 generous and 37 families, values higher than those obtained in previous studies in the same locality. The high degradation of th e forest du e to th e effect s of tropical cyclones an d the use of the forest is demonstrated, if is compared with similar studies, carried out more than 15 years in advance in the locality. There is a significant decrease in th e height, diameter, basal area and volume of the arboreal strata and at the same time, a considerable increase in the density, richness of the shrub stratum and natural regeneration. It ́s demonstrate the breakdown of the resilience process of these ecosystems by the effects of the disturbances that they was been subjected over time.
