description Today, when Ukraine suffers from a terrible war, research on economic and legal trends within the framework of restoration of the affected territories is gaining a certain urgency. The analysis of the legal experience of European countries with a special mode of economic development, which may become an effective basis for the restoration of the territories of Ukraine after the military actions, requires a special emphasis in this context. The study is based on an analysis of scientific and applied approaches to post-war management and the presentation of economic results in European countries, where the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Italy and Spain play an important role. The authors paid considerable attention to the analysis of the Ukrainian case in 2014, when Russia occupied Crimea and part of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Based on European and Ukrainian experience, it has been proved that the main criterion of economic efficiency in the post-war period is improvement of the quality of life of the population.
