description The article examines the possible influence of the availability of Information Technology or ICT (personal computers, educational software and internet access at home) on mathematics learning outcomes of Spanish students. For tins purpose microdata PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) of the OECD for 2009 has been exploited. PISA quantifies the level of knowledge of pupils aged 15 in math, language and science. The analysis has estimated an educational production function in winch one of the explanatory variables is the presence or absence of ICT in the home. The conclusions of the study support the hypothesis that there is a considerable negative effect due to the unavailability of ICT at home, so policies that facilitate these technologies for disadvantaged families will improve educational performance.
