Zusammenfassung: | Accession of the prescription of generic drug by professionals of the medical area. Introduction and objectives: is observed, informally, some reluctance on the use of generic drugs by prescribers, so the objective of the research was to evaluate the current acceptance of the doctors on the use of such drugs. Methodology: a questionnaire was applied to 50 professionals from different medical specialties during the period of 08 May to 12 August 2013. Results: 22% were exercising the profession for less than a year, 32% between one and three years and the others for more than four years. The medical specialties observed were Internal Medicine (30%), Cardiology (24%), Intensive Care (10%) and other areas (36%). A total of 70% of the professionals showed confidence in the effectiveness of generic drugs and 30% did not believe in. It was evaluated the prescription of generic medicines and the reference or similar, and 32% prescribe generic and reference/similar equitably and 24% prescribe more generic. Among the professionals, 54% said they have restrictions on the replacement of the drug prescribed by a similar or generic or reference drug while 46% have no restrictions. The professionals were also asked about the most prescribed generic drug and the preference in prescribing by brand name or the active ingredient, and 54% said they prefer to prescribe by active ingredient and 16% by the trade name. Conclusions: Most medical professionals trust the efficacy of generic drugs; prefers the prescription by active ingredient; have restrictions on the replacement of the medication prescribed for him and the most prescribed generic drugs are the antibiotics. |
