description The dataset includes the chemical composition of slag phases, as well as copper and sulphide prills observed in the microstructures of slag samples from the Early Cycladic complex of Dhaskalio, Keros, obtained through SEM-EDS analysis. This data offers new insights into the range of metallurgical activities conducted at the site. Evidence of smelting has been documented within the settlement itself, indicating the production of unalloyed copper and arsenical copper enriched with nickel and lead. These activities were closely connected to pyrotechnological operations at the nearby smelting site on the Kavos Promontory. Together, Dhaskalio and Kavos represent the only known primary metal production site of the Early Cycladic period outside the metalliferous western Cyclades, which hosted large-scale smelting activities. Secondary metalworking, such as refining and melting arsenical copper, is well-represented in Dhaskalio's material record. Limited evidence of tin-working suggests a focus on recycling practices, likely of tin-bronze scrap metal.
