The renewable and non-renewable composition of the energy and carbon footprint in Brazil: 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015

This database contains the renewable and non-renewable energy and carbon footprint calculation data for the aggregates and sectors of the Brazilian economy for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015. description This database contains the renewable and non-renewable energy and carbon footprint calculation data for the aggregates and sectors of the Brazilian economy for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015. The national energy footprint is obtained by domestic + imported energy consumption. Thus, Table 1 presents the national energy matrix data considering renewable and non-renewable energy sources, by primary and secondary sources, and consolidated data for the Brazilian and global matrix. These data were used in an environmentally extended input-output model to estimate the national and sectoral energy footprint. Tables 2, 3, 4, and 5 contain energy footprint data for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, respectively, in toe/year. The energy footprint data are disaggregated by energy type (renewable and non-renewable) and origin (domestic and imported). Table 6 presents the data for the sectoral concentration index in the national energy footprint for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, in percent. Tables 7, 8, 9, and 10 contain the carbon footprint data for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, respectively, in ton CO2eq/year. The carbon footprint data are disaggregated by the type of energy from which they are derived (renewable and non-renewable) and the origin of the energy from which the emissions are derived (domestic and imported). Table 11 presents the data for the sectoral concentration index in the national carbon footprint for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, in percent.
