The rise in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging has heightened concerns about the health effects of low-dose ionizing radiation (LDIR). While some studies suggest potential positive effects on the immune system, the overall impact remains debated. This research delves into the genetic changes caused by LDIR exposure among industrial radiographers using the whole genome sequencing (WGS) method. Understanding these alterations can provide insights into the health risks posed by occupational radiation exposure, including cancer. By shedding light on the biological mechanisms involved, this study contributes to our ability to manage and mitigate the risks associated with occupational radiation exposure, addressing a significant public health concern. The aim of this study is to investigate the mutational burden in Korean industrial radiographers through WGS. |
