Community of macrocrustaceans from the Mexican sandy beaches of the Gulf of México and Caribbean Sea collected by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)

These data represent the composition of macrocrustaceans from 15 sandy beaches of the Mexican Atlantic. The samples were collected with a corer using three different sampling designs, which varied in number of cores (4, 6) and beach zones (supratidal, intertidal and subtidal). All samples were sieved (500 microns) and the organisms obtained were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level with the help of taxonomic keys. The crustaceans collected belong to the orders Peracarida and Decapoda.
