Zusammenfassung:Pulsed tissue Doppler has been used to assess longitudinal systolic and diastolic myocardial functions. In the present study, relationships between left ventricular geometric patterns and cardiac functions were examined using tissue Doppler among 228 hypertensive patients with preserved ejection fraction (≥50%). Regarding left ventricular geometric pattern, four groups classified based on the left ventricular mass index and relative wall thickness were used. Longitudinal myocardial velocities differed depending on left ventricular geometric patterns and detecting larval systolic dysfunction which cannot be recognized with ejection fraction.
