Zusammenfassung: | One approach to forest inventory which has been employed in the west-central part of Canada is described and discussed. The means employed in arriving at a land classification, timber estimate, growth forecast and forest map are dealt with. Man-day requirements for the individual inventory work operations are cited, as well as sampling error of estimate of total growing stock. A general statement of the characteristics of Saskatchewan's accessible forests is given and some of the by-products of a forest inventory survey are listed. |
