Zusammenfassung: | Personal development is a complex, continuous processthat comes in unique forms, personalized by thepersonal searches and interests of every human being. In order to further his own development and to tapinto the intimate background of his aspirations, manwill make use of the various methods at his disposal, informal methods, most of the time.Architecture should support this development processfor the individual as well as for society, because thewider picture may suggest that one of the answers tothe problems of public spaces in our time resides in thecultivation of the personal essence and in the way it caninteract and generate reactions in others.Maybe a strong community does not depend on just thecommon interests of certain people, but on supportingand accepting all interests, even if different. Perhapspublic space should not only create functions but alsosituations, not dictate clearly the destinations, butfavour the various scenarios that come with each user, leaving some of the answers to the people.Maintaining the possibility of architectural indeterminacyis a necessary and important step in trulyengaging people with each other and with the spacethey are in. With informal education as instrument andwith a suitable framework, public spaces relevant to thecommunity can be created. |
