description Whereas previously, we have positioned Awareness-Based Systems Change primarily as a journey, this issue's editorial draws attention to the daunting, messy, and potentially generative in-between process of transitioning per se. Leading off with a famous quote from Gramsci, we point to the morbidity of symptoms that characterize our current polycrisis-ridden state of interregnum, with something old is dying while what is nascent is not yet able to fully manifest. In so doing, we contend that Awareness-Based Systems Change approaches hold the potential to support dwelling in this liminal space. While it can be a place of frustration, pain, and paralysis, it can also be the very catalyst for new knowledge and knowing that is needed to activate and support transformative action. This issue's contributions explicitly and implicitly speak of creating containers to acknowledge such a fuller spectrum by integrating and making use of different methodologies, epistemologies, ontologies, and knowledge systems.
