description The development of polymer architecture was briefly considered. The architecture was classified from the individual standpoints of design, structure or aesthetics. It has been pointed out that some of them were still missed without synthesis and study. Our attention was thus directed to synthesize and study some of them ; 1. Dumb-bell type polymers were synthesized from adducting bulky molecules to polypropylene diamine and also adducting polyethyleneimine to polyethylene glycol. The adsorption onto cellulose and the washability were studied. Dumb-bell type polymers showed more resistance to washing than linear polymer. This could be due to molecular entanglement between glucose chain of microfibril and the polymer. 2. Cage type polymer was synthesized from polymerizing acrylic acid on surface of macromolecules having three dimensional network such as polyethyleneimine. The polymer dissolved in water medium on less than pH 4 or higher than pH 10, but was insoluble in water on pH 4-10 and organic solvent in the range of study.
