description ABSTRACTThe objective of this article is to establish a historical trajectory of the transformation process, of inclusion in norms and policies of women, peace and security in the African Union system. By asking what are the legal, political and institutional arrangements to integrate this theme into its action between 2000 and 2023? This involves highlighting the organization's approach to the consideration of women, peace and security not only in its legal instruments but also in its various policies. Indeed, despite the difficulties and the context, it should be noted that the institution inscribes in its principles, rules, organization and functioning, its vision relating to women, peace and security. While demonstrating the challenges and inadequacies of this approach, between 2000 (year of creation of the AU) and 2023 that of the establishment of a think tank on the link between climate change and women, peace and security. Consequently, we note an oscillation between consolidative dynamics, limits and reinforcement of established policies and texts.
