Pathomorphologic study on hyperplastic nodule of the liver: A special reference to the containment of cancerous foci

Pathomorphologic features were studied on 10 resected cases of hyperplastic nodules of the liver. All the 10 nodules were found in cirrhotic liver. The containment of well-differentiated minute cancerous foci was recognized in 5 of the 10 nodules. Regardless of the presence of the cancerous foci, all hyperplastic nodules were not much different grossly and microscopically.
