Age-related changes of serum biochemical values in broiler

The purpose of this study is to show the standard values of the serum biochemical values of modern broiler chicken. We compared the values of 14 kinds of blood biochemical analysis between 21, 28, 35, 42 and 49 days of age. The value of TG increased with age to 106.1mg/dL (mean), but it rapidly decr...

In addition, it was confirmed that aspartate aminotransferase (P&lt;0.0001), creatine kinase (P&lt;0.0001) and lacticdehydrogenase (P=0.0012) increased with age, whereas serum alkaline phosphatase activity (P=0.0333) decreased with age. In particular, LDH and CK were two times the difference compared with already reported. The values of TP, ALB, GLU, UA and AST showed no significant difference from the previous reports. In this study the values of the enzyme contained in skeletal muscle were higher than previously reported. This was thought to result from a significant increase in the meat weight. Therefore, these values were considered a standard value in recent years of the broiler.</description><identifier>ISSN: 1346-907X</identifier><identifier>EISSN: 1880-8255</identifier><identifier>DOI: 10.2508/chikusan.87.11</identifier><language>eng</language><publisher>Japanese Society of Animal Science</publisher><subject>broiler ; creatine kinase ; high density lipoprotein cholesterol ; serum biochemical values</subject><ispartof>Nihon Chikusan Gakkaiho, 2016/02/25, Vol.87(1), pp.11-16</ispartof><rights>2016 by Japanese Society of Animal Science</rights><oa>free_for_read</oa><woscitedreferencessubscribed>false</woscitedreferencessubscribed><citedby>FETCH-LOGICAL-c1821-70b6908be6fbb4b6021ac25acda9e40784313269111c36a1bd2aee971e9efb363</citedby><cites>FETCH-LOGICAL-c1821-70b6908be6fbb4b6021ac25acda9e40784313269111c36a1bd2aee971e9efb363</cites></display><links><openurl>$$Topenurl_article</openurl><openurlfulltext>$$Topenurlfull_article</openurlfulltext><thumbnail>$$Tsyndetics_thumb_exl</thumbnail><link.rule.ids>314,780,784,27922,27923</link.rule.ids></links><search><creatorcontrib>ISHIZUKA, Yuzuru</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>IZUMO, Akihisa</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>YASUMATSUYA, Keiko</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>NISHIDA, Shinji</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>SAITO, Keiko</creatorcontrib><title>Age-related changes of serum biochemical values in broiler</title><title>Nihon Chikusan Gakkaiho</title><addtitle>Nihon Chikusan Gakkaiho</addtitle><description>The purpose of this study is to show the standard values of the serum biochemical values of modern broiler chicken.
