63.1: Red Laser-array Light Source for Mobile Projection Displays

A source of highly collimated coherent red light is developed by packaging several low cost red DVD diode lasers with first slow and then fast axis collimation optics. The source fits a 10 lumen hand held battery operated projector display and operates at temperatures of up to 50°C.
