SnO2-based varistor systems were prepared by conventional mixing in a ball mill. The samples were sintered at 1250 ºC for 2 h. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy results indicated that the system is single phase. High nonlinear coefficient values, which are characteristic of high-voltage and commercial ZnO varistors, were obtained for these SnO2-based systems. All the systems developed here have potentially promising varistor applications. |
