Zusammenfassung:The use of an indwelling intravenous infusion set for the home administration of potent antibiotics has been quite successful in the therapy of the chronic bronchopulmonary infection associated with cystic fibrosis. Gentamicin and colistimethate have been used extensively for sensitive strains of mucoid and nonmucoid Pseudomonas organisms. The convenience, patient acceptability, lack of complications, prevention of hospitalizations and effectiveness entitles this mode of therapy to a place of importance in the management of this complication of cystic fibrosis.
