Growth promoting substance in yeast extract for methylotrophic growth of Candida boidinii

A growth-promoting substance (GPS) for methylotrophic yeasts was purified from yeast extract. The purified GPS showed growth promotion by reducing the lag time of the growth of methylotrophic Candida boidinii, while the growth rate at the exponential phase was the same as that of growth without GPS....
