Zusammenfassung:The dynamics of relaxation oscillations has been investigated in a free-running laser-diode-pumped microchip multimode Nd:YVO 4 laser. The locking of relaxation oscillation frequencies, and quasi-periodic and chaotic oscillations have been observed in two-mode regimes. The cross-gain coupling among modes is proposed to explain the observed instabilities.
