Zusammenfassung: | Printing methods are attractive as possible methods for producing low-cost color filters. In this paper, waterless offset, gravure offset, and the ink cure method which is an improved gravure offset were studied. By optimizing the ink properties and the blanket conditions in the gravure offset, fine lines with a width of 15 µm and 100-µm-wide lines without any pinholes could be reproduced. Additionally, 20-µm very fine lines could be achieved by using the ink cure method. By forming both black matrix (BM) and color layers using a printing process, there is great potential for considerable cost savings in the production of active matrix liquid-crystal display color filters (LCD-CFs). |
