Zusammenfassung:In the highly aged planned detached housing estates, there is a need to balance between preservation living environment and response to the needs of daily life. This paper aims to examine the intention and the potential of the parking space sharing to utilize vacant parking lots in such estates to balance meet complex needs. In the case study of Kashiwa Village, Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, a questionnaire survey of residents is conducted. As a result, it is clear that the introduction of parking space sharing has the potential to address the following needs of residents; (1) Parking needs in a form that does not require reconstruction or extension of housing; (2) Temporary parking needs, such as on-street parking and care; (3) The restaurant needs through kitchen cars.
