Zusammenfassung:In recent years, urban-rural mixture has been regarded as valuable in Japan, but little is known about various spatial patterns of the urban-rural mixture. In this study, in order to set visions for the mixed areas conforming to each situation, the formation processes of different mixed patterns are analyzed in a detailed scale and the spatial characteristics of areas are examined through interviews with farmers and an examination of farmers’ registration certificates. These analyses are based on two contrasting points of view. One is farmland management of farmers, such as diversion, sale or lease at the time of inheritance. The other is urban infrastructure projects such as land readjustment or arterial roads in urban planning.
