Zusammenfassung: | For urban planning or architectural design, it is very difficult to define the role of the building in the context of the already-existing surrounded environment. The purpose of this study is to examine the structure of how people recognize and evaluate the juxtaposition of environmental elements in townscape, through field research and psychological research. As a result, it shows that people recognize the townscape through several integrated settings at the same time and the output evaluation will be an overlap of these settings. Also 4 different levels of environment understandings were categorized , - structural, geometrical, qualitive and connotative. |
