Zusammenfassung:This study describes several remains referred to Hippidion principale and Equus neogeus from a classic locality in Buenos Aires Province: the Salado River. For taxonomic identification of the appendicular remains was performed a multivariate analysis that included the metacarpals and phalanges described and several remains recorded in various locations in Argentina and Brazil. For determination of the skull remains was made a comparative study with other skulls from different localities. These data increasing the record of Equidae in South America and provide new evidence about the chronological distribution. Radiometric data was obtained by the AMS method and dating the site between 12 to 14 KYBP. In general, bearing sediments are referable to the Lujanian Age and the Biozone of Equus neogeus.
