Zusammenfassung: | The development of the extensively used simple method for predicting footfall-induced vibrations of floors of buildings (American Institute of Steel Construction Design Guide 11) is reviewed. The empirical basis and underlying analytical assumptions of the method are delineated and critiqued. Its limitations are discussed and suggestions for its extension are presented. Results of some recent related measurements are summarized. |
