description | A middle-age male patient was hospitalized for six-months upper abdominal pain. The patient had experienced 3 episodes of acute pancreatitis in the past 6 years. All the examination pointed to chronic pancreatitis and tumor, which, however, covering up the truth that the patient was in infection with Clonorchis sinensis in his pancreas. As the condition met the surgical indications, we performed pancreaticoduodenectomy and found the infection of Clonorchis sinensis in the postoperative pathological report. The patient maintain healthy during subsequent follow-up. Pancreatic mass with Clonorchis sinensis infected were rarely seen clinically, here we report the case which indicate us that further study on parasite and pancreatic lesion should be implemented. This case report is in accordance with Strengthening the reporting of Clinical Case Report and Helsinki Declaration. |
