Zusammenfassung:A look at Turkish-EU accession negotiations examines the issue of decentralization & devolution of powers from the center. The idea of Europeanization & European & Turkish conceptions of decentralization are explored, along with potential challenges to & opportunities for Turkey in its quest to integrate with Europe. Attention is given to the European & Turkish local government traditions & to recent decentralization efforts in Turkey in the context of Europeanization.
