Invertebrate biomass comprised mainly larval Chiro-nomidae, Oligochaeta, and Gastropoda (Lymnaea spp.). Feeding rates of black stilts on the exposed deltas were high in comparison with feeding rates at other sites in the Upper Waitaki Basin. Management implications of these results are discussed. |
