Zusammenfassung:	A homologous series of novel non-symmetric dimeric liquid crystals, α-(4-cyanobiphenyl-4'-yloxy)-ω-[4-(5-octylpyrimidine-2-yl)phenyl-4''-oxy] alkane, has been prepared and the physical properties investigated. C-13 NMR measurements revealed the relationship between intermolecular interactions and phase transition behavior for the dimeric liquid crystal.
