Zusammenfassung:The ultrastructure of plastids in scales of stems of Cytinus hypocistis L. coming out of ground and still underground was studied. Many organelles can be observed, some of them show more or less flattened and variously sized vesicles in their stroma. Other organelles often show paracrystallin bodies, interpreted as phytoferritin, in their stroma. Amyloplasts are frequently and clearly observed, where limiting double membrane is often connected to fragments of endoplasmic reticulum. A large starch grain mostly occupies the plastids. Furthermore organelles constituted of concentrically shaped lamellar structures are present.
