Zusammenfassung: | Because there was no method available for rapid analysis of liquid in a specific process except high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), a special NMR instrument was developed to operate directly on the process stream. The equipment measured and recorded the ratio of two compounds each 6 seconds. Automatic alarms warned of wrong ratio or equipment malfunction. Highresolution NMR, especially with the improvements of the past few years, is capable of giving fast, accurate, and nondestructive analysis of compounds in many process streams. The performance of this instrument has shown that such equipment is now practical for use as either a process monitor or a process control device. (auth) |
