Data analysis in the computer age: A Monte Carlo computer simulation of error sensitivity in the determination of formation constants

The computer age has spawned a new approach to statistics in which the behavior of data sets is observed empirically by use of the computer rather than being predicted by mathematical formulas. This has the advantage of allowing the student to explore, manipulate, and describe data sets intuitively, and to draw valid statistical inferences without the usual concerns for mathematical tractability.
