Zusammenfassung: | DNA-protein interactions are essential for genome functioning, with billions of years of evolution shaping specific patterns of protein-DNA interactions to regulate gene networks in response to various stimuli. Over the years, scientists have developed numerous techniques to study these interactions, and this review provides a historical overview of these methods, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages and offering examples of recent applications. The aim is to help researchers select the most appropriate technique based on their research goals and capabilities. While some techniques may be quicker or simpler, the precision and accuracy of each method should be carefully considered when designing a study on DNA-protein interactions. The review also discusses advancements in computational approaches for predicting DNA-protein bindings and diverse reporting systems for DPI assays. |
